Litter box issues

Inconsistant litter box usage is often a sign of urinary or emotional distress. Poor grade foods alkalize urine which forms glass-like shards of magnesium (Ouch) and infections of the urethra. Your cat may associate this pain with the litter box and attempt to avoid the pain by avoiding the box. Dietary and supplement changes are the most effective fixes for litter box problems. Having an appropriate number of kitty-comfy litter boxes in peaceful, low-traffic areas will ease emotional distress. Also, not all cats can tolerate bentonite litter dust (but switch slowly).
